Few tasks in life comes
harder than paying tribute to a dear friend whose well lived life has
been cut
tragically short. There is the terrible
abruptness of the news of untimely death. Vivren Brown went to be with her Lord December 14, 2005. She was only 59 years old. For nearly 30 years she worked for and served the citizens of her home town. Kensett loved Vivren and Vivren loved Kensett. At the time of her death she wore many hats. She was the city Court Clerk, the Payroll Clerk and the Mayor’s Secretary among other things. She leaves behind a work record spent in endless pursuit of excellence, and service. She leaves a fearless example of living that makes those who didn’t know her wish they had. Those of us who worked with her each day celebrate her life and in our own selfish way so want her back. I am reminded of these words whose author is long forgotten: God
saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be. So he wrapped his arms around you, And whispered, “Come to me” You didn’t deserve what you went through, So he gave you rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, For He only takes the best. Rest in peace dear friend. Mayor Don Fuller Chief of Police Charles A. Yaerger |
